Why You Need to Ask for Help

Not long ago, I had a conversation with an incredibly bright, experienced female solopreneur during which she stated that she was reluctant to ask for help she had come to realize she was in need of in order to launch her business (I so appreciated her candor).

She thought, “I should be able to do this.”

Particularly as female entrepreneurs, we often think precisely this way - I should be able to do this.

Taking it one step further. I should be able to do it all. Asking for help is shameful, makes me less-than.

And I want flip this thinking - asking for help is courageous:

  • It shows that you are self-aware and capable of being vulnerable.

  • It demonstrates that you have the capacity to look out for your own best interest, to do what you know is necessary to maximize your opportunity for success, no matter how it might look to someone else.

Try this on. I think you'll find that this shift in perception brings relief.

It will help you to get unstuck.

And it will save you time and money in the long run.

Where are you stuck? What type of resource can help you get unstuck, to move forward in your business and life?
